Public, Group and Homeschool Programs

If you want to learn about coastal ecology, the Marine Ecology Program is for you! Come on over to Fort Ross State Historic Park for one of our public programs or book a program for your group, homeschool or school.

Public Programs

New in 2026! Everyone is welcome to these public programs led by FRC’s naturalists. Bring your friends, family or just come by yourself! These programs will be also be offered to homeschool families throughout the year (see below).

Family and social group programs

Do you know a few families and friends or even colleagues who would like to do a marine ecology program? Sign up for one of our programs! 

We have provided programs to sport groups, office retreats staying at nearby hotels, and friend groups from the city. You and your friends can stay overnight in the historic Fort and learn about coastal wilidlife from experts.

Any of the program activities we provide in the Coastal Academy can be incorporated into your program.

Homeschool Programs

Homeschool programs are run throughout the year. The target age of programs is upper elementary and middle school. If we have enough interested from younger and older students, we have have additional classes on the day.

Pricing*: Student = $50 ($10/hour), Adult = $10. 

*Please let the instructor know in advance if you plan to leave early. Financial assistance is available
